Ms. Frida Garcia-Marin is a licensed attorney practicing in Mexico, with over 35 years of experience.  She has a broad range of experience, most notably in real estate law, cross-border litigation, and execution of foreign judgments, wills and probates and has achieved success for numerous clients over the years in all type of rulings in commercial and civil cases, including the negotiation and preparation of complex settlements.

Ms. Garcia started her legal career in 1985 with a prominent litigation firm and worked as a Court Clerk in various civil and criminal courts. Since 2000, Ms. Garcia has led our real estate and litigation practices, overseeing and handling our most important and sensitive cases. 

Her experience and thorough understanding of the law, coupled with her commitment to excellence have solidified our firm’s reputation in the areas of real estate and litigation and have made her a key factor to many of our clients’ successes.

+ Representative Transactions

  • Acted as legal counsel to public and private U.S. companies involved in industries such as manufacturing, real estate development, retail, telecommunications, fishing industries and tourism resorts in Mexico.
  • Successfully represented numerous non-secular organizations in various real estate and corporate transactions.
  • Consistently leads our team in the preparation, review and negotiation of all type of contracts and agreements, including, bailment, pledge, easement, trusts, mortgage, purchase and sale, option agreements, conditional and promise agreements, civil and agrarian court settlements.
  • Prepared detailed and thorough legal opinion on a wide variety of subjects, including title opinions, litigation, condominium regime, land disputes, real estate due diligence, agrarian issued, land purchases, airport concessions, land use, concessions for communication services and fishing concessions, among many others. Coordinate closings of all type of contracts before Notaries.
  • Successfully coordinated land surveys, negotiations with land owners, “ejidos”, shareholder and board meetings and transaction closings.
  • Acted as liaison and lobbyist before all types of authorities and government agencies, especially at the Local and State level.
  • Provided legal guidance and counsel for the development of major industrial, tourist and residential projects involving real estate for more than 25 years.
  • Performed due diligence and secured the acquisition of real estate for easements, pipelines and rights of way for major construction and developments companies in Baja California and Baja California Sur.
  • Represented foreign purchasers, regarding land purchases or joint developments of Mexican real estate, structure and documentation, leases, usufructs, and disputes with various authorities.
  • Successfully advised and represented a U.S. publicly traded gas and oil company in real estate transactions worth over $30 Million Dollars in the State of Baja California, which entailed extensive due diligence, lengthy negotiations with landowners and third parties and preparation of legal opinions and options to purchase real estate.
  • Representation of various U.S. oil companies in energy projects in Mexico, which required due diligence over real estate, resolution of ejido disputes and procurement of Federal Maritime Zone Concessions (ZOFEMAT).
  • Participated in all legal matters pertaining to the acquisition of real estate worth $100 Million Dollars, including the negotiations and settlement of disputes with landowners, prepare option agreements, purchase agreements, amendments, termination agreements and title remedy procedures.
  • Prepared legal opinions over litigation, title remedy procedures, contracts, land use and other matters pertaining to the development of various investment projects.
  • Represented various U.S. companies and U.S. title insurance companies in real estate transactions, which included coordinating and overseeing due diligence processes, opinions over contracts, ejidos, real estate, land use, ZOFEMAT and various licensing matters.
  • Diligently represented multiple joint venture groups over the years for the development of real estate projects in Baja California Sur in all transactions pertaining to the acquisition of real estate worth in excess of $50 Million Dollars, including airport concessions, negotiations with land owners, ejidos, preparation of settlements, guarantee agreements, coordination with government officials regarding permits and concessions.
