Diana Arenivar is a licensed attorney practicing law in Mexico since 2002. Her practice focuses in customs, social security and tax compliance and assists our clients in all types of planning and advisory in complex legal issues, including establishment and operation of manufacturing companies (Maquiladoras), lobbying and proceedings before governmental national and international authorities.

 Ms. Arenivar started her career as an intern at the Mexican Ministry of Finance, Mexican IRS (SAT), where she acquired thorough experience in the areas of tax and customs matters.

 She has ample experience in the regulatory and trade aspects of maquiladora IMMEX operations, including compliance issues. She is also an expert in USMCA trade matters, and the more important certifications for IMMEX companies as Operator Economic Authorized, Valued Added Tax purposes and C-TPAT.

 She became a part of our firm in 2000 and currently, she leads the customs, social security and tax practices in our office located in Ciudad Juarez and handle numerous companies per year located in all Mexico.



+ Representative Transactions

  • Legal guidance at numerous companies for compliance with Mexican Import-Export Regulations, working closely with both Customs authorities and Customs brokers to assist clients in obtaining and maintaining the proper import-export documentation; Securing special permits and rulings for import/export transactions.
  • Legal and technical assist at the companies with Origin Reviews Procedures started by the foreigner and Mexican authorities, as per NAFTA, (now called USMCA), working closely with the higher levels of the Mexican Authorities in charge.
  • Acting as a principal counsel for one of the leading dental device manufacturers , helping in all customs and foreign trade aspects in order to consolidate such company as the firs supplier of dental aligner of the word (Israel, Brazil, Costa Rica, Russia).
  • Has represented automotive companies give guidance in all customs and foreign trade operations in Mexico and other countries for over more than 10 years.
  • Has represented innumerable companies in customs and tax audits started by the Mexican Authorities.
  • Legal and technical assist at the companies to obtain and maintain in compliance of the more effectives certifications established in Mexico, as the Certification for Value Added Tax purposes, Operator Economic Authorized and C-TPAT.
  • Has represented alimentary and medical industry give guidance in all customs and foreign trade operations in Mexico.
  • Legal representative of companies at the Mexican Ministry of Defense (SEDENA) helping at the obtainment of General Permit, Import-Export Permits and all operational services for the customs daily operations of the goods regulated by said authority.
  • Many customs, social security and tax litigations at the Federal Tax Court against contingencies determinate by the Mexican Authorities for mistakes Annex 24 operations, VAT withhold, legal and customs possession of assets, non-returned raw material imported temporally, non-compliance at the NAFTA rules, modify of premium risk by social security purposes.
  • Challenge the constitutionality of Tax and Administrative Laws enacted by the Federal and the State Congresses
  • Restructuring operations and payments made by the companies at the Mexican Social Security Institute for Premium Risk calculations, giving our recommendations to decrease same payments with a correct operations of the work risk (accidents and sickness).
